Ontario Premier Ford announces new school funding for hot spots, asymptomatic COVID-19 testing

At a news conference in Mississauga, Ontario Premier Doug Ford makes an announcement and provides an update on his government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by Stephen Lecce, the provincial minister of education. The provincial government is providing $13.6 million to school boards in Durham, Halton, Hamilton and Waterloo to hire additional staff. Those four regions are in the highest-alert 'red' zone. The province is also allowing voluntary asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for students and staff at participating schools in Toronto, York Region, Peel Region and Ottawa. (November 26, 2020)
